ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Rachel, a therapist in Los Angeles helping teens and young women discover and step into their unique version of womanhood.
Your teenage years and early adulthood are some of the most formative years of your life. You're learning who you are, what matters to you, what relationships feel healthy and what kind of life you want to create for yourself. At the same time, there can be so much pressure to have everything figured out before you've had the chance to truly understand yourself.
I’m passionate about supporting young women because I believe these years are an opportunity for deep growth and self-discovery that can build a foundation for the rest of your life. Therapy can provide a space to explore your identity, work through old patterns and develop the confidence to make choices that feel authentic to you.
If you're a young woman across Los Angeles and California, I can help you navigate the challenges that come with growing up, finding yourself and stepping into embodied womanhood. Together, we'll explore your relationships, beliefs, experiences, and goals while building the self-awareness and confidence you need to create a life that feels meaningful and true to who you are
MY APPROACH
Holistic therapy for young women in Los Angeles who want to find their voice and create a life that feels true to who they are.
My approach to therapy begins with creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are. The transition into adulthood can come with a lot of pressure but with me, you will be 100% safe to share what you’re thinking, feeling and experiencing - no judgement ever. Once we have that kind of relationship established, we’ll focus on trying to understand what your day-to-day life looks like, what feels difficult right now and what support you need.
Depending on where you’re at, our work may focus on developing a stronger sense of self, building confidence, navigating relationships, setting boundaries or understanding some of the early experiences that have shaped how you see yourself. I put equal emphasis on helping you discover practical tools that you can use in daily life while also exploring the deeper patterns and experiences that are shaping you who you are today.
Because every young woman's journey is different, I tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals. Using approaches including psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness and somatic techniques.
MY PROCESS
What to expect from therapy for young women & teens
Every therapy journey looks a little different and there's no "right" way to do therapy. Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time or returning after time away, I'll meet you where you are and guide you through the process with compassion and care.
1. Getting to know each other
I always offer a complimentary 20-min consultation on the phone so you can meet me, talk about what brings you to therapy, ask any questions you may have and decide whether we would be a good fit moving forward.
2. Building a foundation of trust
Our first few sessions together will mainly focus on getting to know you and what life looks like for you. My main goal is to establish a relationship where you feel safe enough to be completely yourself - no fear or judgement.
3. Finding immediate relief
Once our relationship is established, we’ll shift focus to helping you navigate what you’re currently struggling with most. I’ll share practical tools and coping skills that you can use to navigate tricky emotions and regulate your nervous system.
4. Understanding the deeper patterns
As your day-to-day mental health improves, we’ll start exploring some of the deeper experiences, relationships and beliefs that have shaped who you are and how you move through the world so you can achieve meaningful, long-lasting change.
5. Growing through life's seasons
For some women, therapy becomes more than just a place to work through a single challenge. Our therapeutic relationship becomes a consistent space for support and growth throughout all of life’s different chapters - from first entering womanhood to becoming a mother and beyond.
