Self-Esteem & Self-Worth Therapy for Women in Los Angeles, California
Self-esteem therapy is designed to help you build a healthier, more fulfilling relationship with yourself. As a self-worth therapist in Los Angeles, I focus on helping women discover their authentic selves and build a relationship with themselves based on self-respect and self-compassion.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
Self-esteem therapy may be right for you if …
The relationship you have with yourself shapes every part of your life: the way you speak to yourself, the boundaries you set, the relationships you build and the opportunities you believe you deserve. If you've spent most of your life wondering what it would be like to feel confident, you’re definitely not alone.
You consistently feel inadequate or like you aren’t “good enough”
You overthink, doubt yourself and second-guess your decisions
You constantly compare yourself to others and feel like you are falling short
You put everyone else’s needs before your own
You’re always looking to others to give you reassurance
You stay in negative environments out of fear or insecurity
You hate different aspects about yourself, your appearance or personality
You feel like your worth depends on how much you can achieve or do for others
CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
Self-esteem therapy in Los Angeles can help you quiet the inner critic and reclaim your sense of self!
The journey towards healing your self-worth isn't about becoming a completely different person or suddenly feeling confident all the time. It's about changing the way you relate to yourself.
Therapy can help you quiet your inner critic, develop greater self-compassion, build healthier boundaries and begin making decisions from a place of self-trust rather than fear and self-doubt. Over time, many of my clients discover that as their relationship with themselves changes so do their relationships with others, their careers and their overall mental and emotional wellbeing.
ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Rachel, a self-worth therapist in Los Angeles helping women create a healthy & fulfilling relationship with themselves.
In our modern world, anxiety has become so incredibly common that many women just assume it's something we have to live with. We push through the racing thoughts, keep ourselves busy and carry the emotional weight of constant worry. It can feel like the world is demanding more and more of us and rarely do we give ourselves permission to slow down and prioritize ourselves. If any of that sounds familiar, you're definitely not alone.
My own desire to improve my relationship with myself was one of the key reasons I started doing my own self work, going to therapy and also what inspired me to become a self-worth therapist. On my own journey, I discovered that healing wasn't about becoming a “perfect” person. It was about understanding myself better, the patterns I had developed, learning where they came from and creating a healthier relationship with myself first so that I could learn to show up differently.
Today, I help women across Los Angeles and California move beyond self-criticism and self-doubt to move to a place of self-understanding, self-compassion and self-trust. Together, we'll work toward understanding the patterns and experiences that have shaped your relationship with yourself and build practical tools to help you navigate life with more confidence and authenticity.
MY APPROACH
Holistic therapy for women in LA who are tired of second-guessing themselves & want to feel secure in their authentic self
My approach to self-esteem therapy is primarily based on creating a space for you to feel 100% safe and comfortable. With me, there will be no wrong responses, no judgement, no embarrassment - no matter what you’re experiencing. Once we have that kind of relationship established, we’ll focus on trying to understand what your day-to-day life looks like, where your low self-esteem shows up and what you’re already doing to try to manage it.
While it's important to learn practical tools for navigating self-doubt in the moment, I also believe lasting change comes from understanding where those negative beliefs about yourself began in the first place. Together, we'll explore the experiences, relationships and messages that shaped your sense of worth so we can begin to replace old patterns with healthier, more compassionate ones.
Because every woman's story is different, I tailor therapy to your individual needs using an integrative approach that may include psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness as well as somatic techniques.
MY PROCESS
What to expect from therapy for self-esteem with me
Every therapy journey looks a little different and there's no "right" way to do therapy. Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time or returning after time away, I'll meet you where you are and guide you through the process with compassion and care.
1. Getting to know each other
I always offer a complimentary 20-min consultation on the phone so you can meet me, talk about what brings you to therapy, ask any questions you may have and decide whether we would be a good fit moving forward.
2. Building a foundation of trust
Our first few sessions together will mainly focus on getting to know you and what life looks like for you. My main goal is to establish a relationship where you feel safe enough to be completely yourself - no fear or judgement.
3. Finding immediate relief
Once our relationship is established, we’ll shift focus to helping you navigate what you’re currently struggling with most. I’ll share practical tools and coping skills that you can use to navigate tricky emotions and regulate your nervous system.
4. Understanding the deeper patterns
As your day-to-day mental health improves, we’ll start exploring some of the deeper experiences, relationships and beliefs that have shaped who you are and how you move through the world so you can achieve meaningful, long-lasting change.
5. Growing through life's seasons
For some women, therapy becomes more than just a place to work through a single challenge. Our therapeutic relationship becomes a consistent space for support and growth throughout all of life’s different chapters - from first entering womanhood to becoming a mother and beyond.

There isn’t one right type of therapy that is right for everyone. I take an integrative approach which basically means that I include psychodynamic, attachment-based, relational and cognitive approaches depending on what you're experiencing and what you want to work on. Rather than focusing only on feeling more confident, we'll also explore where your beliefs about yourself came from and how you can develop a more compassionate and trusting relationship with yourself.

Low self-esteem doesn't always need to look like a lack of confidence only. You might also be very successful, independent or capable while privately struggling with self-doubt, comparison, perfectionism, people-pleasing, difficulty accepting compliments or feeling like you're never quite good enough. You may also find yourself looking to other people for reassurance or having a hard time trusting your own decisions.

There's rarely one single cause. Our sense of self-worth can be shaped by childhood experiences, relationships, family dynamics, cultural expectations, experiences at school or work and the messages we've received about who we're supposed to be. In therapy, we'll balance looking at the experiences and patterns that may have shaped the way you see yourself today, while also focusing on creating a healthier relationship with yourself moving forward.
-
Yes, your relationship with yourself can change drastically. That doesn't necessarily mean you'll never doubt yourself or have a critical thought again. Most people do. The goal is to develop enough self-awareness, self-compassion and self-trust that those thoughts no longer get to determine how you see yourself or the choices you make.

There can definitely be overlap between anxiety and low self-esteem. Anxiety therapy tends to focus more on worry, fear, overthinking and feeling on edge, while self-worth therapy looks more closely at how you see yourself and the beliefs you hold about your own value. But for many women, the two are definitely connected. Self-doubt can fuel anxiety and anxiety can make it harder to trust yourself. We'll focus on what feels most important to you rather than trying to fit your experience into a particular category.
